RE: Random Opinions
Sorry. That may not have been the best thing to say. I wish I had some actual advice for you now.

RE: Random Opinions
All dating and relationship advice from NTs is rubbish. Especially the empty reassurances.

RE: Random Opinions
The whole dating world is weird... a concept generalized by the NTs as easy... when really it's absolutely terrifying (the rejection parts that is)

Is the person you're afraid is going to reject you someone you're likely to see again?

definitely catfish.

on a more serious note I haven't had the best luck with dating either. when I was younger sometimes i would have women be interested in me, but I really mainly wanted women who were friends at that point in my life (I guess i still do) and they were only interested under the pretense of me being a man so I had no desire to pursue any of them.

now i mainly get men interested in me, but a lot of them total creepos and even when they're respectful i'm not actually attracted to men. when women are interested in me nowadays for some reason they are all exactly 18 years old, which to me is like a child rather than someone I could date. my two ever actual relationships ended both terribly and dramatically.

I've come to the conclusion that a lot of my motivations for dating were selfish and that I can both receive and share more benefit from focusing on other aspects of my life. if I wanted kids maybe it would be different, but I don't and there's lots of important things I can work on instead. basically embracing that spinster lifestyle for the time being and trying to learn to be grateful for all the positives that already exist in my life.

Kind of what I was trying to get at is that is that rejection might not be quite as terrifying if the person doing the rejecting isn't someone you have to keep interacting with in the future. If she's not interested, she's not interested. Not a whole lot you can do about that.

RE: Random Opinions
I understand. It's frustrating for something like that to keep happening repeatedly. Is there anyone who can help you work out what you can do differently?

I'm talking with an old case manager about it.
